The very last rose, and the end of the leafy show...

The leaves have peaked and begun to fall.... everywhere.  We track them inside on wet shoes and find them blowing in after us as we come inside with a stack of logs.  Fireplaces are the new gathering spot in our home.

Even with one half of the sky a deep slate gray there was a surprising element as I looked up to see this very last rose.

It is beginning...

We have been waiting for fall to finally arrive in COLOR. It has been here but just sat around doing not too much. Now, however, we are beginning to see the painted leaves in small batches here and there... and every once in a while something spectacular lands in the grass. Where these beauties come from I have no idea, since there isn't a tree like this near our house. But this visitor is most welcome.
