Clothes worn inside out will bring good luck and
if you use the same pencil to take a test that you used for studying for the test, the pencil will remember the answers. So why not double your chances for an A+.

In the sketch you can see where I cut and pasted a different version of the child's head. I just felt like she should be concentrating a bit more, even with that special pencil in hand.

a very hopeful and charming illustration!
I wish I would have known that when I went to school!
love it! I am still trying to figure out which one I'll do for IF!
So cute, I'll have to pass this along to my boys!
very cute and nice warm colors, and i agree i will have to pass those along to my teens. i've not heard them before
Oh funny! I've never heard that one but it makes sense :):).
Cute as can be.
Oh Ginger the face is wonderful! Love the oart about the pencil remembering the answer. Would't that be great!
And I see little Henry has a spot over on the side and he is wearin his new jacket! So cute!
hi ginger! there is also another meaning. they say if you get lost esp. in the woods wear your clothes inside out and you'll find the way.
i like your home by the way and the picture with henry in it, so cool.
I wish I knew this when I was at school!! Great drawing.
this is wonderful, with good advice too
I'm going to go turn my clothes inside out right after I post this! Cute illustration.
Ginger, why didn't you tell me that when I was in school??
I've never heard of the inside out clothes...that would have come in handy !! I like the idea of the pencil with a memory !! Great illustration with a wonderful story too.
love the clothing textures and how you made the blackboard lettering blurry. It really has a wonderful effect. Great job..and fun..maybe one of those fly pens would be a good idea to do tests with.
I've always heard that it's good luck if you put your clothes on inside out (though I've always found it's not quite so lucky if you're in a hurry at the time!). Love the one about the pencil!
Super cute! I love this and I wish I would've known the tips before, lol!

This is just lovely Ginger!
What an amazing superstition, I wonder if it works! beautiful character as always, and wonderful colours.
So cute! And this illo has a very classic feel to it-- reminds me somehow of a mother goose book I had as a child(don't remember the illustrator on that version).
I have a similar superstition to the pencil thing for adults:
If you eat exactly the same number of dessert calories as the lady sitting across the table from you, the calories will cancel out.
(I only wish it worked:P)
I really want to touch that hair! Beautiful work.
How wonderful! I wish I'd known the pencil thing back in the day! I love this little girl and her head full of curls. Sweet!
Thanks for sharing your process! Great Illo.
Adorable and original take on the theme.
At a "Swell Season" concert I attended recently, the lead singer, a Dubliner, told the audience that if you wear your clothes inside out, an Irishman MUST tell you the truth.
Who knew?
