While this isn't completely new, it is a newer illustration from the book I illustrated last year, "Song For A Giraffe," by Michael LaLumiere and Kim Messinger. Worried that he may not be able to swim a lonely zebra stands forgotten on the riverbanks.
What he doesn't know is that the zebra usually pick the best crossing spot and for that reason the wildebeast are sure to join them as well.

WOW!!! Ginger, you paint the most wonderful Safari animals. I love watching these animals on Animal Planet. This scene makes me think of the shows I like. Really beautiful.

Wow! A moving illustration, the water, the zebra, they're all moving! So beautifully done!
What a gorgeous scene! What a wonderful take on 'forgotten'.
I like how the zebra in front is sort of white washed out. It's a cool affect and how the zebra on the bank is sort of removed from the rest of the image as if he is almost dreaming it. It reminds me of that Manet painting, Luncheon on the Grass.. the one that started the entire modern art movement.

This is very cool - it has a flat look to it as if the zebra on the shore is dreaming of the others swimming. I love the effect of the turbulent water. So beautiful!
