lovely composition! But not a butterfly species I've ever seen here in NH :)

You are right Jane, there are no butterflies like this in NH. But there are in Brazil. I have seen them and they are stunning. Since the whole illustration is a composite of scenes from a book I illustrated the characters are partly fictional, but the cycle is accurate.
