ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY ~ FEROCIOUS

This summer I painted a number of oversized posters for the children's summer theater camp in our town. This is a study for one of the posters.  If I was still doing silk screening this would be a perfect piece for that medium.

Thank you for the kind comments. I have to say this style is not what I would normally do. It is a far cry from my usual painterly style. I needed to work quickly so I used the line art as a base and simply filled in the color. For the posters, which were quite large, I sketched, painted and then did my huge letters on the computer and pasted them on to the posters and painted in around them.

Hello Ginger :)

Sorry been away - actually your screen printing comment jogs my memory. I think I would like to learn it. I can see how suited this style would be, so clean and precise. There is a lot going for it as far as a minimalist approach. And suits the prompt down to the ground! (Well I would be climbing a tree actually!) see you :)
