Elliott as a woodcut

Still experimenting with the woodcut effect and watercolor.  This version is digital, but I will continue with the woodcut experiments and add traditional watercolor.  I am really liking the effect and having a great deal of fun seeing what I can do with this technique.

Yeah! Relief printing rules! Are you doing some real-life woodcuts as well as the digital painting version?

Alas, so far Jill I am still using the digital cut, but painting with real paint on watercolor paper. I am trying a number of different things and have ordered some soft blocks and tools to experiment with. We can only wait and see if I remember what I learned when I actually did woodcuts. Those were large, heavy blocks of wood and very hard to work with. I still have my old tools, but will get newer sharper ones... and a box of bandaids. (LOL)

It's fun to try new stuff isn't it! Your paintings look great. I hope you like the carving and printing also. You'll remember how to do it- like riding a bike. I hope you like the soft blocks. I'll keep an eye out for your new work!
