CREATING A DIGITAL FILE CABINET

Let's just say you have some sketch books. Let's say you have DOZENS! You save them because your sketches are important and you never know when you are going to need just the right one for a piece you are creating, or a book you are illustrating.

Right. So HOW DO YOU FIND THAT ONE perfect sketch that you need. You know you created it. It was a keeper!

Recently I wrote an article for the New England SCBWI newsletter outlining a plan for creating aDigital File Cabinet for all your sketches, whether digital or traditional. If you are interested you can take a look at it here.

Nice idea Ginger, to scan all sketch images and make an archive.
Another thought is to upload them to a private Flickr account and tag them with obvious names so they can be called up in sets, such as bike, rabbit, swimming, buildings etc. Or to create a private blog with them all uploaded and labeled with similar tags. Then you can call up all images with the same tag/label, and view the collection, without clogging up your own computer space :o)

Great Ideas,June especailly if you don't have an external hard drive to send all the files to.
Thanks for the suggestion. *:)

What a great idea!
Then you could just print them out if you needed a hard copy again.
Cool!
